নাটোরের সিংড়া উপজেলার পাচপাকিয়া মাঠে গত বুধবার এক কৃষকের সঙ্গে মেছো বাঘের ধস্তাধস্তিতে বাঘের মৃত্যু হয়েছে।
গুরুতর আহত হয়েছেন ওই কৃষক। তাঁকে বগুড়ার শহীদ জিয়াউর রহমান মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। স্থানীয় লোকজন জানান, গতকাল বিকেলে উপজেলার খাজুরা ইউনিয়নের দুর্গম এলাকা পাচপাকিয়া মাঠে কৃষক মিলন হোসেন ধানখেতে কীটনাশক দিতে যান। সন্ধ্যায় আচমকা একটি মেছো বাঘ তাঁর ঘাড়ে লাফিয়ে পড়ে। বাঘটি তাঁর বাঁ হাতে ও ঘাড়ে কামড়ে রক্তাক্ত জখম করে। প্রাণ বাঁচাতে মিলন বাঘটির গলা চেপে ধরেন এবং তাঁর মুখ কাদা-মাটির ভেতরে ঠেসে ধরেন। এতে ওই বাঘের মৃত্যু হয়। পরে এলাকাবাসী তাঁকে উদ্ধার করে হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যান।
