আমার আট বছরের নাতি দাদার পুকুর থেকে মাছ ধরে এনে আমাকে বললো, আমি মাছ ধরে এনেছি, তুমি রান্না করবা, মজা করে রান্না করবা। সেদিনের মতো আমি জীবনে এতো নার্ভাস কোন দিন হই নাই। কারণ তার মুখের মজাটা কি রকম সেটা তো আমি জানি না।’
‘পরে আমার মেয়েও বললো, আমি তো তোমাকে কখনো এত নার্ভাস দেখি নাই।’
শনিবার বঙ্গবন্ধু আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রে বিসিএস উইমেন নেটওয়ার্কের ৫ম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উদযাপন অনুষ্ঠানে কথা নারীদের সমস্যা ও সম্ভাবনার নানা দিক নিয়ে কথা বলতে গিয়ে নিজের পারিবারিক জীবনের কথা এভাবেই তুলে ধরছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।
ছেলে মেয়েদের পছন্দের খাবার রান্না করা মা হিসেবে তার দায়িত্বেরই অংশ জানিয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, এখন তার সঙ্গে যোগ হয়েছে নাতি-নাতনীদের আবদার।
নিজের ঘরের আরও সব মধুর পারিবারিক ঘটনা তুলে ধরেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী।

রান্না করতে পারাটা গৌরবের উল্লেখ করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, একটা অদ্ভুত ব্যাপার আমি মাঝে মধ্যে শুনি। আমি তো একজন মা। আমি রান্না করছি শুনলে সবাই যেন অবাক হয়ে যায়! অবাক হওয়ার কি আছে। আমার ছেলেমেয়ে আমার রান্না পছন্দ করে। আমি প্রধানমন্ত্রী হই আর যাই হই আমার নিজের ছেলে মেয়েদের জন্য রান্না করবো, তাদের মুখে খাবার তুলে দিবো এটাতো আমার সবচেয়ে গৌরবের ব্যাপার।
