মিয়ানমারের নেত্রী অং সাং সুচির নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার ফিরিয়ে নেয়ার জন্য অনলাইনে এক আবেদনে হাজার হাজার মানুষ স্বাক্ষর করেছেন। মিয়ানমারের সংখ্যালঘু রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যাপক মানবাধিকার লংঘনের ঘটনায় কোনো অবস্থান নিতে ব্যর্থ হওয়ায় আবেদনে তার এ পুরস্কার জব্দ অথবা ফিরিয়ে নেয়ার আহ্বান জানানো হয়।
চেঞ্জ ডটঅর্গে এই আবেদনে ইতিমধ্যে সই করেছেন লক্ষাধিক মানুষ। ধারণা করা হচ্ছে, ইন্দোনেশিয়া থেকে এ আবেদন জানানো হয়েছে।
আবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, 'আন্তর্জাতিক শান্তি এবং ভ্রাতৃত্ববোধ রক্ষায় যারা কাজ করেন, তাদেরই নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারের মতো সর্বোচ্চ পুরস্কার দেয়া হয়। সুচির মতো যারা এই পুরস্কার পান, তারা শেষ দিন পর্যন্ত এই মূল্যবোধ রক্ষা করবেন, এটাই আশা করা হয়। যখন একজন নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার বিজয়ী শান্তি রক্ষায় ব্যর্থ হন, তখন শান্তির স্বার্থেই নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার কমিটির উচিত এই পুরস্কার হয় জব্দ করা নয়তো ফিরিয়ে নেয়া।'
